The best time to visit Vietnam is generally during the dry season, which runs from November to April. However, due to the country’s long, narrow shape, the weather varies significantly by region, making Vietnam a suitable destination year-round.
A general rule is to focus on lightweight, breathable, and modest clothing for comfort and cultural respect. For visiting temples, pagodas, mausoleums, and rural areas, it’s respectful to wear clothes that cover your shoulders and knees. Loose trousers, maxi skirts, midi dresses, and long-sleeved or elbow-length tops are excellent choices. A sarong or light scarf is a versatile accessory for quick cover-ups.
