Breakfast at the Hotel. You will go to the Lake District today for a full-day tour of the ten lakes. Known as the most picturesque region in all of England, the Lake District. From the south to the north, the route takes you through a magnificent mountainous landscape, valleys, and lakes. As you move around the area, take in the lush farmland and rocky fells while learning essential details about the history and geology of the Lake District and the people and occasions that have helped define this beloved locale. The first stop should be the charming village of Ambleside as you follow Lake Windermere, the largest lake in England. Then, proceed to Rydal Water for a photo stop after stretching your legs around the charming streets. To reach Thirlmere, a reservoir created by the fusion of two natural lakes, travel through the picture-postcard settlement of Grasmere and up Kirkstone Mountain, the area's highest pass, after taking pictures of the countryside around this mirror-glass lake. Admire this lovely body of water and continue through the verdant Borrowdale Valley and beyond Bassenthwaite Lake. Drive through Crummock Water to Keswick after ascending the rough Honister Pass hills to the picture-perfect town of Buttermere.

Pull up here and take advantage of the opportunity to explore this charming market town at your leisure while having lunch on your dime. Once you're back in the minivan, drive further over the sloping hills to the 48-stone Castlerigg Stone Circle. Take pictures of this historic location while learning about how a ceremonial site was likely formed here when the stones were placed circa 3,000 BC. Visit a picturesque waterfall in the area while you're there to unwind, take in the breathtaking views of the tall falls, the surrounding forests, and the quaint villages, and take in the sense of enduring beauty. Dropping you back off at the starting location completes your tour. Return to your Hotel.
