Itinerary

Day 1 :
Leh

Leh

Arrive at Leh airport (Kushok Bakula Rinpoche) by morning flight. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Later in the evening, visit the Leh Palace: The majestic Leh Palace is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Built in the 17th century, the palace is a grand structure that is a reminder of the region’s history and heritage. Later visit Shanti Stupa: The Shanti Stupa is a beautiful Buddhist monument, located on a hilltop in the city. The stupa offers stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains. It is a popular spot for meditation and reflection. Proceed to Leh Market: The vibrant Leh Market is located in the heart of the city. It features a wide variety of local goods and souvenirs, as well as a range of traditional Tibetan and Ladakhi items. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes to relax in.

Leh Local (Sham Valley)

After breakfast, visit Magnetic Hill, a gravity hill located near Leh in Ladakh region. It is a place where the gravitational pull is so strong that a car left in neutral gear will move uphill. The hill is a major tourist attraction in the region and many people come here to witness the phenomenon.Later proceed to the Hall of Fame, a museum located in Leh in Ladakh region. It was built by the Indian Army in 1986 to honour soldiers who fought in the Indo-Pak wars. The museum has an impressive collection of artefacts, pictures, and paintings of the soldiers who fought bravely in the wars. Further visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib a popular Sikh pilgrimage site located in Ladakh region of India. It is situated at a height of 14,000 feet in the Himalayan region and was built in 1517 by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Gurudwara is open to people from all faiths and religions and is a popular tourist attraction in the region. Later, The Sangam of Zanskar Indus River, a popular tourist destination located in Leh in Ladakh region. It is the confluence of two rivers, the Zanskar and the Indus, and is a major attraction for tourists visiting Leh. The place is also known as the confluence of two cultures, as the river Indus is a symbol of Indian culture while the Zanskar River is a symbol of Tibetan culture.

Leh to Nubra Valley (125 KM / 5-6 Hrs.)

After an early breakfast, we will start our journey towards Nubra Valley. Nubra Valley is situated in the north of Leh district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The valley is best known for its stunning Himalayan landscapes, lush green fields and the serene Nubra River. The valley lies at an altitude of around 10,000 feet and is home to some of the most beautiful sites in India.The drive will take you through some of the most scenic roads in India, including the Khardung La pass, the highest motorable road in the world. The drive usually takes around 5 hours and is a great way to take in the magnificent views of the Himalayan Mountains. Along the way, you can also visit some of the nearby monasteries and ancient Buddhist sites. Once you reach Nubra Valley, you can explore the beautiful sand dunes, enjoy the hot springs and indulge in some of the local delicacies.

Nubra Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, Begin your day with an early morning visit to the sand dunes at Hunder. Enjoy the tranquil beauty of the desert landscape as you ride atop a majestic camel. Then, witness the local culture of the region with a cultural dance show. You can also take an ATV ride (at your own cost) for an adventurous experience. Next, head over to the Diskit Monastery and explore the beautiful architecture of the ancient structure. Admire the amazing views of the Karakoram Range from here. The evening is at leisure to explore the area and take photographs.

Nubra to Pangong via Shyok (150 KM / 06 - 07Hrs)

After breakfast, Proceed on to Pangong via Shyok, a scenic drive that passes through some of the most beautiful and remote parts of Ladakh. The drive takes approximately 7 hours and covers a distance of around 150 km. The route starts from Nubra Valley and passes through the picturesque Shyok Valley before reaching Pangong Tso. Along the way, you will be able to witness stunning landscapes, snow-capped mountains, quaint villages, and lakes. The route begins from Nubra Valley and heads south towards the small village of Chumur. From here, the route turns east and passes through the stunning Shyok Valley. The valley is lined with snow-capped mountains, which makes it one of the most picturesque routes in Ladakh. The route then continues east towards Tangtse, where the road forks. The left fork leads towards Pangong Tso, while the right leads to the Karakoram Pass.Once you reach Pangong Tso, you will be able to witness the stunning beauty of the lake, with its crystal-clear waters and magnificent mountain backdrop. The lake is a popular tourist destination and is also home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the endangered snow leopard. The route is a must-visit for all travellers looking to explore the beauty of Ladakh! .

Pangong Lake to Leh (155 KM / 05 - 06 Hrs)

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Leh. The distance from Pangong Lake to Leh is 135 km and can take around 3 to 4 hours to cover. The route to Leh from Pangong Lake is a winding road that passes through the villages of Tangtse, Merak and Chushul. The road is mostly hilly and offers many picturesque views of the surrounding landscape. On the way, you can also visit the famous Thiksey Monastery, which is located around 18 km away from Pangong Lake and is known for its well-preserved murals and vibrant frescoes. The last stretch of the journey passes through the picturesque Indus Valley, which is known for its colourful landscapes. This valley is also home to many migratory birds, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. Upon reaching Leh, you can explore the city's many attractions like the Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, and the war memorials. They can also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities like trekking, river rafting, and camping. In short, the journey from Pangong Lake to Leh is an unforgettable experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.
