Known as the “Grand Canyon of Kazakhstan,” the canyon’s colorful rock formations and dramatic landscape make it a great place for hiking and photography. Afterward, continue your journey to the tranquil Kolsay Lake, nestled in the Tien Shan mountains. Known for its stunning turquoise waters surrounded by lush forests, Kolsay Lake is an idyllic spot for a relaxing picnic and a gentle hike along the lake’s shores. You can even enjoy a boat ride in the summer months. After a scenic lunch by the lake, return to Almaty for a relaxing dinner.

After the market, visit the Rahat Chocolate Factory, one of the largest and most popular confectionery producers in Kazakhstan. You can tour the factory and sample a wide variety of delicious chocolates. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a nearby café, and spend the afternoon shopping or exploring more of Almaty’s local attractions, like the Central State Museum or the Arbat Street. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kazakh dinner at one of the city’s renowned restaurants.
