Mountain Escape: Almaty

After arriving at Almaty International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in and some time to rest after your flight.

After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to Panfilov Park, a beautiful green space in the heart of Almaty, named after the Panfilov Division, which played a heroic role during World War II. In the park, you’ll find the Panfilov Monument, which commemorates the bravery of these soldiers. Next, visit the Zenkov Cathedral, a colorful and ornate Russian Orthodox church that is one of the tallest wooden buildings in the world. Afterward, explore the Park of the First President, a large park offering wide walking paths, serene lakes, and views of the Zailiyskiy Alatau mountains. In the afternoon, take the cable car up to Koktobe Hill, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views
of Almaty and the surrounding landscapes. This hilltop is also home to restaurants and entertainment options, making it a perfect spot for lunch or dinner with a view.

Afterward, continue your journey to the tranquil Kolsay Lake, nestled in the Tien Shan mountains. Known for its stunning turquoise waters surrounded by lush forests, Kolsay Lake is an idyllic spot for a relaxing picnic and a gentle hike along the lake’s shores. You can even enjoy a boat ride in the summer months. After a scenic lunch by the lake, return to Almaty for a relaxing dinner.

After the market, visit the Rahat Chocolate Factory, one of the largest and most popular confectionery producers in Kazakhstan. You can tour the factory and sample a wide variety of delicious chocolates. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a nearby café, and spend the afternoon shopping or exploring more of Almaty’s local attractions, like the Central State Museum or the Arbat Street. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kazakh dinner at one of the city's renowned restaurants.
