Itinerary

Arrive guwahati and transfer to Shillong

Arrive at Guwahati Airport, you will be greeted by our local representative and transfer you to Shillong.On your way to Shillong you will get to see the stunning views of the hills and mountains of the region.On the way, you can stop at some of the small villages and explore the local culture and cuisine. On arrival, check into the hotel. Rest of the day to explore the city and its attractions on your own. You can enjoy some delicious local cuisine or do some shopping at the local markets. You can also take part in some of the activities such as trekking or camping in the nearby hills. You can also visit some of the famous attractions such as Shillong Peak, Ward’s Lake, and Elephant Falls. You can also explore the local culture and traditions of the region.

Cherrapunji – Dawki – Mawlynnong Village – Shillong

After breakfast, Start your day trip to Mawlynnong Village, the cleanest village in India by leaving early in the morning from Shillong. The drive to Mawlynnong is a scenic one. The views of the hills, valleys and streams along the way are truly breathtaking. Arrive at Mawlynnong Village and explore the village and its surroundings. The village is known for its cleanliness and the picturesque views. Take some time to appreciate the beauty of the village and the friendly people. You can also explore the Living Root Bridge, made of living tree roots that have been tied together to form a bridge.Later, head to Dawki, a small village near the Bangladesh border. It is a popular tourist spot and has a beautiful landscape. Enjoy a boat ride in the crystal clear waters of the Umngot River. There are also some interesting rock formations here. Explore the village and its surroundings and enjoy the views. Later in the Evening: Return to Shillong as the sun sets. The drive back is a scenic one and the views of the hills and valleys along the way are breathtaking. Enjoy the cool breeze and the picturesque views.

Shillong – Laitlum Canyons -Krang Suri Falls – Shillong (90 KM | 2 Hrs Per Way)

After breakfast we proceed to Laitlum Canyons, a perfect way to explore the beauty of this stunning region in the North East of India.Start your day with a scenic drive from Shillong to the Laitlum Canyons. This is one of the most spectacular natural attractions in the region, with its rugged terrain, steep cliffs and lush greenery. As you drive along, you will be able to take in the stunning views of the mountain ranges, waterfalls and lush forests that make up this majestic landscape. Once you reach the Laitlum Canyons, you can explore the area on foot, marvelling at its beauty and taking in the spectacular views. You can also take a dip in the natural pools, which are perfect for swimming and splashing around in. Later proceed to the Krang Suri Falls which is located close by. This is a stunning waterfall, cascading down a steep rock face and into a deep pool at the bottom. You can take a dip in the pool to cool off and enjoy the breathtaking views of the falls and the surrounding landscape. After your day of exploring, head back to Shillong and enjoy some of the local delicacies and culture of the region. (own your own).

Shillong to Kaziranga (250 Km / 5 Hrs).

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive from Shillong to Kaziranga.
A great way to experience the natural beauty of Northeast India. The route takes you through lush green hills, crystal clear waterfalls and majestic mountain peaks, making it one of the most picturesque drives in the region. The drive starts from Shillong, where you can take in the beauty of the sprawling tea gardens and quaint villages. As you progress, the roads get more winding, taking you through picturesque villages and small towns like Jorhat, Bokakhat and Nagaon. Along the way, you will pass by numerous tea estates, which are a great way to experience the local culture. Once you reach Kaziranga, you can take in the beauty of the National Park and its abundant wildlife. Enjoy the lush greenery and the majestic animals that inhabit the area.

Kaziranga Sightseeing.

After an early breakfast, Visit Kaziranga National Park, a World Heritage Site located in the northeastern Indian state of Assam. The park is home to the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many other species of animals, birds, and reptiles. It is also known for its pristine grasslands and breathtaking views of the nearby Karbi Anglong and Diphlu Rivers. Kaziranga Sightseeing offers you the chance to observe wildlife in their natural habitats from a variety of safari options. The park offers both elephant safaris and jeep safaris, allowing you to get up close and personal with the wildlife. The elephant safaris provide a unique opportunity to observe rhinos, elephants, deer, and other animals in their natural habitats. The jeep safaris offer a more comfortable and convenient way to observe wildlife, as they are equipped with experienced naturalists who can provide information about the wildlife and park. In addition to the safari options, Kaziranga Sightseeing also includes visits to some of the park’s main attractions, such as the Mihimukh, Panbari, and Eastern Range. Kaziranga National Park – Dirang (260 Km | 6 to 7 Hrs)

Start early in the morning for Dirang. The road from Kaziranga to Dirang is lined with lush green tea gardens and paddy fields, and the views of the majestic mountains and the shimmering waters of the Brahmaputra River are simply breathtaking. The drive begins in Kaziranga and you will pass through several small towns on your way to Dirang. You will also drive through the villages of Karbi Anglong, Biswanath and Majuli. You will be able to see the snow-capped peaks of the great Himalayas in the distance. As you drive through the villages, you will be able to see the traditional lifestyle of the local people and the various ethnic groups in the region. The drive to Dirang will take you through some of the most spectacular landscapes of the region. You will be able to see the mighty Brahmaputra River, the lush green tea gardens and paddy fields, and the stunning mountain views. The drive to Dirang will also take you through Dirang Monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery of the region. On arrival at Dirang, transfer to your hotel and check in. Rest of the day is free to explore the town and its many attractions. Dirang is home to several beautiful monasteries, including the Dirang Monastery and the Tawang Monastery. You can also visit the Dirang Valley, which is known for its breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

Dirang – Tawang (140 Km | 6 Hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Tawang.Enroute, the war cemetery, which is a place to honour fallen soldiers. Here, pay respect and take time to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who gave their lives. Next, continue the drive to Sela Pass, located at an altitude of 4170 m / 13700 ft. This is a popular destination for its high altitude lakes and stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains. Take in the fresh air and majestic views as you continue the drive. Once you arrive at Sela Pass, journey to JaswantGarh War Memorial. This is a memorial of the brave Indian soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat, who fought against the Chinese in the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Pay respects and admire the memorial, and take time to learn about the history of the war and Jaswant Singh Rawat’s bravery. Later, visit Nuranang Falls (Jang Falls). This is a beautiful waterfall that cascades down from a height of 100 metres. Take a moment to enjoy the natural beauty of the falls and take some photographs. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in.

Day 8 :
Tawang

Tawang

After breakfast proceed on a sightseeing tour of Tawang. Visit Tawang Monastery, The largest monastery in India and the second-largest in the world. It was built in 1681 by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in the small town of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The monastery is a major tourist attraction and a pilgrimage site for Buddhists from all over the world. The Namgey Lhatse, or the “home of the divine madman”, is a large complex of buildings, including a large temple, several smaller temples, a library, and a museum. Visitors can explore the various buildings and learn about the history of the area as well as the culture and religion of the Buddhist people. Later, visit the Singsor Ani Gompa, one of the oldest monasteries in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. It was founded in the 17th century by the Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso and is located on a hill overlooking the town. The monastery is a popular pilgrimage destination for Buddhists and houses numerous statues, paintings, and other works of art. Visitors can explore the various buildings and learn about the history of the area as well as the culture and religion of the Buddhist people. Proceed on to the Tawang War Memorial, located at the entrance of Tawang town in Arunachal Pradesh. It is dedicated to the memory of Indian soldiers who died during the Sino-Indian War of 1962. The memorial was built in 1965 and consists of several monuments, including a large statue of a soldier and a wall with the names of the fallen soldiers. Visitors can pay their respects at the memorial, which is a reminder of the sacrifices made by the Indian soldiers who fought for their country. Evening return back to the hotel.

Day 9 :
Tawang

Tawang

After breakfast, visit the Bum La Pass (Indo-China Border) . Visiting Bum La Pass (Indo-China Border) requires a permit from the DC office at Tawang. To obtain the permit, you will need to provide a valid ID and proof of your Indian citizenship. It is important to note that the permit is only valid for one day and is non-transferable. Once the permit is obtained, you will have to take a local taxi in Tawang to reach the Pass. The taxi fare should be paid directly to the driver. Next, you will have to visit Sangetsar Lake (Madhuri Lake) and Pangong Tso Lake (P.Tso Lake). Both lakes are close to each other, and you can take the same taxi to reach both places. Make sure to carry your permit with you as you will be required to show it at the entry point. At both places, you can enjoy the stunning views and take pictures. It is important to note that our vehicles are not allowed at the Indo-China Border or at the two lakes. Therefore, you will have to take a local taxi to cover these places. All relevant costs should be borne by you. Evening return back to the hotel.

Tawang– Bomdila

After breakfast, drive to Bomdila, a journey of about 155 km and is a popular route for tourists who come to explore the region. The route passes through some breathtaking landscapes and offers amazing views of snow-capped mountains, lush green valleys, and dense forests. The drive starts from Tawang and takes you through the picturesque Sela Pass, which is at an elevation of 13,700 feet (4,200 m). This is one of the highest motorable passes in the world and offers spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks. After crossing the pass, you will reach the small village of Jaswant Garh which is known for its memorial to a brave soldier and is a must-visit spot. The next stop is at the picturesque town of Bomdila, which is perched on a hilltop at an altitude of 8,500 feet (2,600 m). The town offers some amazing views of the Himalayan ranges, making it a great place to take a break from the long drive. After exploring Bomdila, the drive continues towards Dirang, the next major town on the route. The drive from Dirang to Bomdila is particularly beautiful, as it offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks and lush green valleys. The route passes through the small villages of Gompa, Tawang Monastery, and Thangsa, all of which are great spots to explore. After reaching Bomdila, the drive ends, making it a great journey that takes you through some of the most beautiful places in Arunachal Pradesh. On arrival, Check in to the hotel. And later visit The Bomdila Monastery, a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery located in the town of Bomdila, in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the oldest and most sacred monasteries in the region and is home to over 500 monks and nuns. The Monastery consists of a main temple, several sub-temples, a library, and a museum. The main temple houses a large statue of Lord Buddha, made of brass and gold plated, and is said to be over 300 years old. Later, visit Bomdila View Point: The Bomdila View Point offers a stunning view of the entire Himalayan range, with the majestic snow clad peaks of Bhutan, the Kanchenjunga Range and the Sela Pass. The panoramic view is breathtaking, and it is a great place to take in the beauty of the mountains and the lush greenery of the region. Proceed on to the Apple Orchards: Arunachal Pradesh is known for its apple orchards, and Bomdila is no exception. There are many orchards in the area, where visitors can pick their own apples and purchase freshly-picked apples from local farmers. Later in the Evening you can visit the local market(on your own).

Bomdila– Guwahati (335 KM | 6-7 HRS)

After Breakfast, transfer to Guwahati. The journey starts with a drive through the Eastern Himalayan region of Arunachal Pradesh. The drive takes you through the beauty of the Eastern Himalayas and its lush green forests. As you drive, you will pass by the Sela Pass, the highest motorable pass in India, at an altitude of 13,700 ft. The pass is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and offers a stunning view of the surrounding vistas. As you drive further, you will pass by the beautiful town of Tawang and then enter the state of Assam. The drive then takes you through the picturesque landscape of Assam, with its lush green tea gardens, rolling hills, and winding rivers. As you drive through the tea gardens, you will also get glimpses of the Brahmaputra river, the largest river in India. The drive then finally ends at Guwahati, the gateway to North-East India. On arrival check into the hotel. Rest of the day free to explore Guwahati on your own. Evening you may take a River Cruise on the mighty River Brahmaputra. You may also visit the local market. Assam is famous for Assam Silk particularly Golden Muga Silk, Assam Tea, Bamboo and Cane Products.

Guwahati- Sightseeing- Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed on Guwahati half day sightseeing, a great way to explore this vibrant city. Visit to the most popular tourist attractions such as the Kamakhya Temple, Assam State Zoo, Assam State Museum, Balaji Temple, Umananda Temple and many more. Kamakhya Temple. Later return back to your hotel, and depart on your transfer to the airport/ train station, take a flight/ train home, and reminisce on your wonderful Joy-N-Crew Vacations experience.
