Enjoy a half-day visit to Coorg today. Visit the Abbey Falls, which are surrounded by spice and coffee estates. Here, the Kaveri river plunges into serene, lovely ponds as it tumbles down a rocky wall. Go to Raja's Seat, a modest pavilion with a garden that offers views of the magnificent Blue Mountains nearby. Visit the Shiva-dedicated Omkareshwara Temple, which is approximately 200 years old and a startling fusion of Gothic and Islamic architecture.

After an early breakfast, check out and drive to Mysore, known for its royal palaces, sandalwood, and incense stick manufacturing. Stop by Chamundi Hill and the Mysore Palace, whose interior is lavishly carved, detailed, colorful, and architecturally fascinating. Former monarchs, the Wodeyars, controlled the Mysore Kingdom from this palace. Visit Brindavan Garden in the evening, which is optional, and is 19 kilometers from Mysore. One of the largest in India, the 2-mile rock-field dam creates a 130 km2 lake. Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar constructed it to supply water to the Shivanasamudra power plant.
