On arrival at Bhubaneswar, meet and greet our local representative, and transfer to your Hotel. Spend the following half-day exploring Khandagiri, Udayagiri, and the Tribal Museum (closed on Mondays) (the oldest rock-cut caves, the caves are reminiscent of the influence of Buddhism and Jainism in Orissa). The remainder of the day is open.
This morning, after breakfast, proceed to Puri. Along the way, stop at Dhauli (a Buddhist stupa/peace pagoda), Hirapur (a temple dedicated to 64 yoginis), Pipli (a village known for its appliqué work), and Raghurajpur (a village known for its tusser paintings, wooden toys, and miniature paintings). After arrival, check into a hotel at Puri. Visiting Lord Jagannath Temple in the evening (Non-Hindus are not allowed). Spend the remainder of the day at leisure on Puri's beautiful beach.
After breakfast today, head to Bhubaneshwar. On the way home, head to Konark to see the Sun Temple (one of the world-famous heritage sites & famously known as Black Pagoda). Visit the Chandrabhaga Beach and the Ramchandi Temple as well (one of the finest beaches with a long stretch of clean sands & the beach has its lovely serenity). After that, go on a half-day city tour and stop at some of the most well-known temples in the area, including Lingaraj, Parsurameswara, Mukteshwar (dubbed the "jewel of Orissan architecture"), and Rajarani temple. Return to the hotel in the evening to spend the night in Bhubaneshwar.
After breakfast, visit the Brahmeswara Temple, which is located on the bank of river Baitarani in Bhubaneswar. This ancient temple is believed to have been constructed during the 8th century. After exploring the temple, head to the nearby Dhauli Hill, which is known for its ancient Buddhist monuments. The main attractions include the rock edicts of Ashoka, the Peace Pagoda and the DhauliGiri Shanti Stupa. After exploring the hill, have lunch and then proceed to the Nandankanan Zoo. This zoo is open from 9 am to 5 pm, except on Mondays. It is home to many species of animals, birds and reptiles, including the endangered white tigers. You can explore the zoo’s White Tiger Safari and Botanical Garden, which showcases some of the rarest plants and flowers.
Return to the hotel in the evening to spend the night in Bhubaneshwar.
